Many women are captive in the social pressure and by what media dictate them to be, and the ideal woman is not of necessity standing on the heavy corner. Media depictions show how men adore women who are lean, or how lean women are respected in the business world as they are perceived to be sharp, witty, and of profound character. High school girls dread coming to the prom if they are a few pounds heavier than others, mothers who recently give birth are troubled about their husbands not seeing them as desirable as before, and stay-at-home moms who used to have careers in the business world are stressed than they do not appear as intelligent as they once were.
Weight gain seems unavoidable among women, especially those who are coming to middle age when metabolism slows down. Women who have given birth also find it straining to regain their pre-pregnancy form. But then again, weight gain is not excuse for women to slacken in caring for themselves, their appearance, and their character. All women can be stunning, as long as they know how to take care of themselves and do it regularly.
But for those who have gone more than the scales, being fat is not just cosmetic as an issue but a health matter over-all. Being overweight may trigger a lot of diseases particularly in middle-aged women, just like diabetes, high blood pressure, hypertension, and other lifestyle diseases. This is apart from the little spirit attributed to having a hard time getting the right size when buying clothes, or having a hard time getting a partner. For mothers, having extra weight after child birth makes it twice difficult to care for a growing baby, simply because with the excess weight, moving and running around, and playing, and exerting other physical activities with the baby is hindered.
Despite being busy attending to others, women can still make the effort to be pleasant inside and out. Women who do not make time to take care of themselves will afterwards find that they are virtually unable of caring for others at home as well. Every woman should have the time and effort to be beautiful inside and out.
Family members can encourage wives, mothers, aunts and even older sisters by helping them to care for themselves. Giving them alone times to do their shopping for modest clothes and other necessities, having them receive treatment from a dermatologist for a problematic acne and other skin or body concerns, and not letting them feel bad for taking care of themselves are ways to encourage them.
